The final round of the competition witnessed the participation of 13 teams from 10 countries, including two teams from Pakistan. The two teams from Pakistan were selected after a rigorous process where Huawei took the multiple-stage exam to choose the best to represent the country.
In the final round, every team consisting of 3 members had to undergo a written test and complete a lab task to solve network problems. Pakistan team outclassed in every step of the selection process and won the first and second prize in the grand final in Riyadh.
Members of the Pakistani team that won the first prize included two students of MUET, Satesh Kumar and Bhagchand Meghwar, and Syeda Iqra Fatima from Islamia University Bahawalpur. The winning team won the first prize with a $20,000 cash reward.
